Aerial Land Survey

Job: To provide a detailed orthomosaic and digital terrain models for a new sub division.

Challenges: To provide a detailed orthomosaic and digital terrain models for a new sub division once the roads were installed and before construction of the properties began that was detailed enough to pick up the block title survey markers and could be regularly repeated on call when required on a regular basis.

Solution: Airsight Australia operated an advanced photogametry fixed wing UAS called the Avian-P. With 70 minutes flight time capability and ability to operate in rain and winds up to 45km/h, the Avian proved to be the most capable UAS system for the job.

Results: Within 48 hours of flying the mission, Airsight Australia was able to deliver in full the required deliverables, including dense and sparse point cloud, Digital Terrain Model (DTM), orthomosaic and 3D model. With a GSD of 3.8cm and a vertical accuracy of 7.7cm using 8 ground control points over an area of 0.45km2.
